The Deacons wish to thank the congregation for your donations to the food pantry. You generously heeded our call for assistance and our once bare cupboards have been replenished.  The Deacons are now working to replenish our supply of food certificates,  our  mission focus for March. The Deacons purchase food certificates from the Covenant Women’s Group and make the certificates available in the church office to be distributed, along with items from the food pantry, to those in need.  Depending on the need, individuals or families may be given items from the food pantry, small denomination food certificates, or both. Monetary donations for the purchase of food certificates may be made by using the green Deacons’ Fund envelopes located in the church pews.

            This month, the Deacons provided monetary mission gifts to Westminster Woods, Brotherhood Community Ministries, and the Salvation Army. We are also planning to help raise funds for the Wichita Habitat for Humanity home to be built by local Presbyterian churches this fall.  Please mark April 19, 2008, on your calendars and join us for the Second Annual Deacons Miniature Golf Event to be held that day at All Star Sports from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  If you bring the pink flyer located in the Sunday bulletins to the golf event, half of your  admission price will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.  For the small admission price of $6.00, you will help provide a home for a  homeless family, while also enjoying miniature golf, fun and fellowship with your Covenant friends.  We look forward to seeing you there!
