F.R.O.G. Children's Ministry

Welcome to Covenant's Children's Ministry page. Below is information on our  values, upcoming events, Sunday School, Children's Church, Wednesday Night EKG program and more. We invite you to scroll down to learn more about us and explore our weekly offerings. Most importantly, we invite you and your family to visit our church.

Covenant Children's Ministry Values

1)    Every child is a beloved child of God and every family is welcome to our church.

2)    Covenant provides a safe and secure place for every child and family to worship God and grow in their faith. (All Christian Education/Children’s Ministry programs and events are staffed by Covenant employees and volunteers who have passed background checks.)

3)    The Christian Education/Children’s Ministry is a vital part of the Covenant community and the church's mission statement--working hand-in-hand with other ministries of the church and across generations--to follow Christ's example to love and to serve.

4)    Children’s Ministry provides age-appropriate, engaging, and uplifting Christian programming to children through Sunday School, Children’s Church, Wednesday night activities, and other special events. Our ultimate goal, through all of our programming, is to teach children to Fully Rely on God (FROG).

5)     Parents and guardians play essential roles and are invited to participate, volunteer, or observe ALL of our programs and events at any time. Our goal is to connect with, support, and encourage parents in their God-given role as the spiritual leaders of their children.

6)  The Christian Education/Children's Ministry program seeks to glorify God by teaching children to love God and to accept His love, grace and forgiveness. Our goal is to equip children with an expanding knowledge of the Christian faith and provide age-appropriate avenues to learn the Bible stories.

    • Our well-staffed nursery is available for newborns through 3 years old.
    • Preschool - 1st grade meet in Room 11 for a Bible story time, hands-on craft/activities, music, and playtime. This class uses the Wee Believe curriculum, which engages young children in age-appropriate lessons and activities by teaching them important Bible stories.
    • 2nd-5th Grade meet in Room 8 for an exciting hour of Bible learning, games, and challenges. This class uses the exciting Buzz curriculum. Buzz provides fun, innovative ways to learn Bible stories and to capture the imagination of elementary-aged kids.
    • For safety reasons, children attending Sunday School must be dropped off and retrieved by a parent or approved adult. Children not picked up from Sunday School will be transferred to the nursery at 10:50 A.M. so that Sunday School teachers can prepare the classrooms for children's church and attend the 11:00 AM service.
    • Children attending the 8:30 AM children's church who are NOT picked up after the church service will be transferred to the nursery so that different age-groupings may use the classrooms.
    • Parents are ALWAYS WELCOME to visit or help in any Sunday School class.
    • Please make the Sunday School teachers aware of any allergies or health problems.
  • Frog Cove Children's Church
    • Children's Church is offered at both the 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM services. Occasionally, only one service is offered at 10:00 AM which will also includes Children's Church. Children are dismissed from the service following the "Time with Children" message. Children's Church uses the Living the Good News curriculum. Children hear an age-appropriate message and participate in a learning activity related to the story.
    • Children 3 years old - 5th grade are invited to participate in Children's Church. Younger children are welcome in the nursery.
    • Children are dismissed by the Pastor from the worship service following the Children's Message. The children are escorted by Miss Debi (Director of Christian Education) to Room 8 for Children's Church. Parents may pick up their children from Frog Cove in Room 8.
    • Frog Cove introduces children to age-appropriate Bible concepts that follow the liturgical calendar of the church. Generally, children explore the same topic presented during the sermon through a Bible story, art, music, and fun hands-on activities.
    • Children's Church is over when the church service is finished. We ask that parents pick up their children promptly following the service--so that the Children's Church staff can have the opportunity to visit with new families and answer questions about Covenant's Children's ministry, and/or prepare the classroom for Sunday School.
    • Children may attend either the first or second children's church service each Sunday. Although the worship services are slightly different (contemporary or traditional), children's church is the same for both services. The nursery is available for children who are present for both worship services. Also children are welcome to join the family in the worship service.
    • For safety reasons, children attending Children's Church must be retrieved by a parent or approved adult.
